The Vienna-Tyson’s Regional Chamber of Commerce selected Homestretch as the 2007 Nonprofit Member of the Year. Homestretch, founded in 1990, is the largest provider of transitional housing and services for homeless families with children in Northern Virginia. In addition to providing subsidized housing, the comprehensive program offers job counseling, credit counseling, ESL classes, computer training, life skills training, domestic violence and substance abuse counseling, family mentoring, and children's programs - all aimed at helping families get on their feet and stay that way. A unique evaluation system tracks a family's progress from the time they enter the program to up to two years after they graduate.
CHO is an all-volunteer organization that was. CHO was organized In 1969 by a group of concerned churches and individuals In the Dunn Loring / Merrifield / Oakton / Vienna community to provide simple, loving charity to those in need of goods and services which they are unable to provide for themselves or obtain from governmental social service organizations. Membership in CHO is open to all churches, synagogues, civic and service organizations, and individuals interested in improving the quality of life for all in the community. While no boundary lines are firmly established, efforts are made to avoid overlapping services with those provided by similar neighboring service organizations.
“It is exciting to get together again with these talented local artists for two such great causes” comments Stifel and Capra founder, Theresa Wells Stifel. “The wealth of art talent is immense as are the community needs.
In keeping with their vision of being a community devoted
to serving their neighbors, Vienna Presbyterian
Church is donating the meeting space for the show. There will be no
admission fee, all are welcome. Come join us. If you would like more information
